Today our hike was up the Hessie trail-head to Devil’s thumb trail to Lost lake.
It started off in the shade by the creek with some logs on the trail, but quickly moved into sun and UP!
The trail was rocky, we squished through some snow melt, over the creek and kept going up.
One creek crossing (with a bridge.)
We stopped by the waterfall to snack after doubling back.
We were only .25 miles from the lake, but the snow pack and ankle deep creek from the melt was too much for our shoes.
Still, it was a nice hike. On the way into town we saw moose! They were eating leaves in someones yard and walking back and forth across the road – cool!.
In town we ate lunch at the park, then went to the carousel and candy store.
On the way back up 72 I stopped to take some pictures looking back and down to Indian peaks.
We will be back here now that we know how close we were, next time we’ll being creek shoes.
