Grace had a plan today – wake up late. Wear her birthday dress so Daddy could see it on her. Make her ocean cake with a chocolate whale and chocolate seashells. Move into her room. Eat dinner at Saltgrass. Open presents and have cake. Sounds like a good plan to me. James and I rented a steam cleaner and cleaned the carpets and stairs. I had to unclog the vacuum cleaner, seems that a pencil had gotten stuck in the hose part. Grace donned her Cake Boss apron from the cruise ship and made French vanilla cake with chocolate chips in it.
She made her famous butter-cream frosting and made a chocolate whale and used her candy mold to make seashells. The cake was very cute.
After dinner she opened presents.
She was stoked about Joel’s gift of LPS figures.
She also got $ from Grandma and Tony, $ from Bethany and a bow head whale, 2 sets of dollhouse furniture to paint and put together, a whale dress, a whale vs. squid t-shirt, a fish coloring book and the most exciting thing – Riverwatch training at the end of July. I think that was her favorite gift. We used some of the photo props, I’m glad I bought them…
I think it was a very good birthday.
